renovation update

december 2021 and january 2022

Our contractor Beck is making good progress and will be focusing on the following over the course of this month and January:

Works will be paused on Friday 24 December 2021 and will recommence on Wednesday 5 January 2022

The first stage of renovation work in apartments is almost complete. Snagging, feature lighting and carpentry are scheduled for January 2022.

55 and 60 Park Lane corridors
60 Park Lane corridors are now all stripped, with new ceiling and decoration work continuing. All corridors have been rewired. The restoration of the original 1930s staircase in 60 Park Lane is underway and many years of paintwork are being removed. At 55 Park Lane we will start to reopen corridors in January 2022.

The new plant room is almost finished. All equipment and infrastructure has been installed ready for switch on.

All structural works will be finished by 24 December 2021 and fit-out will start in January 2022.

Lift core
The lift core will be finished by 24 December 2021 and fit-out will start in January 2022 by our specialist contractor KONE. Internal fit-out of the new lift lobbies will also start in January 2022.

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance works
Improvements to the building for DDA compliance start this month. There will be disruption to the entrance of 20 South Street from now until 24 December 2021 as we make these changes. From January 2022 the main entrance to 60 Park Lane will close and the new access route to 60 Park Lane will be open whilst works are in progress. We will continue to update you regularly during this time with entrance and exit information.
